North New Jersey Kitchens: Reface, Replace or Mix and Match?

Having a hard time deciding between Replace your Kitchen, replacing it or doing a bit of both and mixing and matching. By the end of this you will have a better idea on how to decide what the best option is for you.

Replacing your kitchen can be pricey but sometimes there is no way around it. Take a look at the foundation, if there is rotting, warping or irreparable wear and tear, these are signs that it is time for a brand new kitchen.

Refacing your cabinets is giving your kitchen a "fresh" look without the price of replacing everything. You would want to do this if your kitchen is in fairly good shape and the only real issues are cosmetic. Refacing your kitchen is great when you feel that it is becoming boring, bland or the cabinets are chipping and you want a refresher.

Mix & Match

This is an option often over looked, maybe the foundation is fine but the doors and drawers are falling apart, you can choose to just replace the doors and drawers. This is becoming an option when people are just tired of the look of their kitchen also. Sometimes it is only a few doors or drawers, or just replacing part of the foundation, these are all viable reasons you would choose this option.

So what is the best option for you?

1. Take a good look at the foundation:

is it rotting, warped or sagging? You will definitely want to go with replacing, this is your best economical option in the long run. (Why you don't want to reface: if you will need to replace it in the near future there is no sense in spending your money on refacing.)

2. Is EVERYTHING in good condition that you will get at least 3-4 years out of it?

If so then getting a Fresh look is perfect, Reface it! This option is good if you're just tired of the look of your kitchen. Don't forget hardware is a great way to give your refaced cabinets a fresh look with out getting new doors and drawers.

3. Mix & Match: although not always ideal, replacing some stuff and not everything. Have a little bit of both 1 and 2 going on… Mixing & Matching is a great option for you, saves you a bit of money with out the expense of a full kitchen. Beware of what you are replacing your current kitchen with, If you have a high quality kitchen don't skimp on replacing things, you want to give your house a greater value not a lesser

People happy with our services

I never thought getting my garage floor painted would make so many of my friends jealous! You did such a meticulous job, especially on the details. I especially appreciated the time you took to explain all the necessary steps to complete a quality job. We are so glad we hired you. I am already thinking about some additional work for this spring.

We used Spectrum Painting to paint our laundry room, kitchen, living room, office, powder room, sitting room, 2 story foyer and hall, 2 bedrooms, master bedroom, ceilings in kitchen, living room, and foyer, 3 car garage, shutters on 13 windows, and the front door with 2 sidelights. In addition to the walls being painted all doors, baseboards, window frames, crown molding, and other trim were included. Furthermore, we had a wallpaper border removed and crown molding added in the master bedroom. The paint job took less than a week and turned out great! We could not be happier with all of the colors we chose (with the help of Pam) and the way the it turned out. Overall, the sales team, including Rich Lauretta and John Mangiafreno, the project manager Rafael, and the design consultant Pam Steinhilber were all very professional and a pleasure to work with.
